Progressing Progressive Web Applications

Wednesday 28 Feb 2018 from 6:00pm - 9:00pm

Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) are Web applications that are regular Web pages or websites, but can appear to the user like traditional applications or native mobile applications.

The application type attempts to combine features offered by most modern browsers with the benefits of mobile experience.

Progressive Web Presentations (PWPs) are presentations that are unlike regular web presentations, they appear to the user like the future of the Web, as it takes on traditional applications or native mobile applications.

The presentation type combines features offered by many modern events with the benefits of adding and developing technologies only available to the most mobile of developers.

    by Aliaksei Kuncevič

How to cook a PWA using latest Angular framework.

Aliaksei is a long time frontend engineer. Currently rebuilding a complex business application using latest Angular goodies and TypeScript. He's usually very serious and gives a lot of practical advice of what to use and how to build a decent product.

  • Chris James

Building online apps for offline use

    by Chris James

Chris will share his experience from a Siteminder hackathon, building an online app to be used by a charity while they are off the grid.

To quote the SydPWA meet-up page: Chris always gives the funniest talks in Sydney. And speaks the fastest of us all.
When Chris presents you'll never get bored even if he speaks about a most boring topic like boring (bore, - verb. Make a hole in something with a tool or by digging).
